Student Transitions Project
5. Student Transitions Project (STP)
The Student Transitions Project (STP) is a collaborative effort between the Ministries of Education and Advanced Education and BC public post-secondary institutions to link data about students in the province's public post-secondary education system with information from the K-12 education system to answer important questions about student transitions. Much of BCCAT research on student mobility under its Admissions Committee relies heavily on STP data and/or is carried out as part of the STP work plan. Dr. Gaber chairs the STP Steering Committee and serves as supervisor of the Manager of the STP, Joanne Heslop, who is seconded to BCCAT from SFU. BCCAT also hosts STP Steering Committee and subcommittee meetings as required.
The Manager of the STP and BCCAT staff members presented on STP research findings at a number of venues this year, including SFU, the three post-secondary sector organizations, two national conferences, and one regional conference in Vancouver.
