Welcome Fred Jacklin (BCCAT Interim Director, Transfer & Articulation)

We are pleased to announce our new Interim Director, Transfer & Articulation. Fred Jacklin brings more than four decades of experience in BC’s post‑secondary system, including 32 years at Vancouver Island University, where he served 23 of those years as Registrar. A respected sector leader provincially and nationally, he held long‑standing executive roles with the BC Registrars Association, including a term as President and several terms as Secretary.

After a brief flirtation with retirement, Fred is delighted to be joining the BCCAT team. (And we are thrilled to welcome him on board!)
In his new role, Fred will provide strategic leadership to BCCAT operations and initiatives, including coordinating provincial articulation policy and overseeing the Transfer and Articulation Committee and the Joint Annual Meeting (JAM).

We would also like to extend our thanks to Dr. Fiona McQuarrie for stepping into the role of Acting Director, Transfer and Articulation in recent months. As Fred joins the team, Fiona will be returning to her role as Special Projects Officer.
