Maggie has been a transformative force in the EAP for credit movement in British Columbia, championing the cause of transfer credit for EAP students with unwavering dedication and vision. Her leadership is marked by both tenacity and grace; she is both principled and ambitious, always pushing boundaries while remaining deeply respectful of diverse perspectives... By securing recognition for EAP courses as credit-bearing, Maggie has helped dismantle barriers that limited EAL students’ academic mobility, fostering their sense of legitimacy and belonging. This has opened pathways that allow students to see themselves not just as language learners, but as full participants in the academic community, with the same opportunities and potential as their peers.
