Recording Articulation Agreements

When the receiving institution determines the credit it will award for the transferred course, along with any special conditions affecting transferability, it communicates this information to the TCC. The TCC then completes the transfer form and returns it to BCCAT for inclusion in the BC Transfer Guide. An articulation agreement is recorded in the BC Transfer Guide in this format:

Sending Institution Course

Transfer Credit

Effective Dates

SFU MATH 100 (3)

UNBC MATH 115 (3) Must have a grade of C- or better to use as a prerequisite

Sep/10 to -

In this example, the receiving institution has specified that the student must achieve a minimum grade in the transferring course in order to use credit for that course to meet prerequisites for other courses at the receiving institution. The 'effective date' is the date when the transfer agreement comes into effect. A student may not be eligible to receive the listed transfer credit for the course if he or she completed it before the effective date.
