BC transfer students profile and performance reports have been prepared periodically since 1991. The latest publication, BC Transfer Students: Profile and Performance Reports (2008/09 - 2012/13) is the most comprehensive to date.
Transfer students continue to constitute about one-third of the incoming student population at BC's research universities, consistent with the previous five-year period. While demographically different from students who entered university with no previous post-secondary education ("direct-entry students"), transfer students graduated with grade-point averages at least equivalent to direct-entry students at most institutions.
The findings are based on the data provided by members of the Research Universities’ Council of British Columbia (RUCBC), and the project was overseen by BCCAT's Research Committee. Links to the full report, a related infographic summarizing key findings, and appendices are provided below.
